In Guatemala we have seven national parks, five biosphere reserves, and six biotopes sheltered by 300 microclimates and two seasons. Therefore, 85% of the species of the entire world live in our forests, jungles, and plains. Furthermore, Guatemala and Chiapas (México) have 8,000 different types of plants. Guatemala has 14 types of subtropical forest, and 450 types of trees. Moreover, Guatemala has all these varieties in a relatively small space, thus allowing people to have access to all these species within a short distance .
